There was a murder and a detective was questioning the suspects. Mr. Smith, Mr. Carpenter, Mr. Black and Mr. White were questioned in the circular house nest to the garden the body was lying in. The detective asks them where they were before the body was found. Mr. Smith says, "I was in the house, cooking in the kitchen." Mr. Carpenter says, "I was in the house, in bed fast asleep." Mr. Black says, "I was in the house, sitting in the living room, reading in a corner." Mr. White says, "I was in the house, tidying up the cellar." Who was telling a lie?
